I’m a very keen all grain home brewer. I like to brew ales mostly but get lagers away from time to time. My preference is for hoppy IPA style beers, hence the name of the site. However, I drink and brew all kinds of beers.
I have been all grain brewing for more than five years. I use a mix of home constructed and prebuilt equipment. I have recently purchased a house so I have started to plan out a good permanent set up for my brewery. Once I have some work done on it I will get some photos up on the site. If you are looking for home brew information for Adelaide I would recommend Beer Belly for ingredients and equipment. They have a really good range and also build brewing equipment. If you are looking for a club check out Adelaide Mash Brewers. I was involved in this group when it started but work has been in the way of me playing a more active role. They are a good bunch of guys and seem to be very active.
If you are not into the club thing and just want an online resource check out Aussie Home Brewer. It’s a forum with a great wealth of information available. The forum is very approachable and kind to new brewers. If you are looking for ingredients or equipment and can’t find it locally try Grain and Grape or Craft Brewer. These are both great stores run by good people heavily involved in the brewing community.
